We are currently seeking a reliable and professional driver to join our dynamic team.
Position Summary:
The driver will be responsible for safely and effectively transporting people, goods, and other items as required by HG Gambia Limited. The ideal applicant will always exhibit a high degree of professionalism, be on time, and drive safely.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation:
- Safely transport goods, equipment, and personnel to various destinations as assigned.
- Ensure timely delivery and pick-up of materials according to the schedule.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of goods when necessary.
- Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform daily vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Report any mechanical issues or damages immediately to the Fleet Manager/Supervisor.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good working condition at all times.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of passengers and goods.
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding transportation and vehicle use.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs.
Customer Service:
- Interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
- Address any inquiries or concerns with a positive attitude.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through reliable and courteous service.
Administrative Duties:
- Complete and submit daily trip reports and logs.
- Help with other administrative duties as assigned by the supervisor or fleet manager.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of driving experience, preferably in a similar role.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Ability to read maps and use GPS systems effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Punctual, reliable, and with a strong attention to detail.
- Basic mechanical skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods while driving.
- Capable of lifting and carrying items up to 25 kg.
- Comfortable with occasional long-distance travel and irregular working hours.
